Is it legal to own a suppressor?
If you are Texas resident and if you can legally own a firearm then you can own a suppressor.
Please check your state and local laws before purchasing if you are not a Texas resident.
Basic steps to buying a suppressor.
If you are transferring your suppressor to another dealer.
- Choose and purchase your suppressor.
- Have your dealer send a copy of their FFL and SOT to us. Your dealer will assist in completion and submission of ATF Form 4.
- We will submit a Form 3 and upon approval by the ATF will ship you suppressor to your dealer.
- Your dealer will make delivery of your suppressor when your Form 4 has been approved by the ATF.
If Richmond Tactical will be assisting and submitting your ATF Form 4
- Choose and purchase your suppressor.
- Purchase your $200 Tax Stamp.
- Choose how you want to file. Filing as a Trust or Individual are the most common.
- Trust (this is the most common and we can recommend someone to prepare a trust if you do not already have one). Provide the following for all responsible parties on the trust:
- Email a copy of your trust and Schedule A to [email protected]
- Two passport photos
- Two FBI FD-258 fingerprint cards
- Identify your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO), for notification
- Individual
- Two passport photos

- Identify your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO), for notification
- Richmond Tactical will submit your Form 4 to the ATF.
- We will notify you that your suppressor is ready for pick up upon receipt of an approved Form 4.
